I am beyond excited to be leading the TEDxMcGill team this year! The TEDx mission resonates with me on a profound level. In a world harbouring so many diverse perspectives, TEDx serves as a platform for individuals to share unique insights, emphasizing open dialogue and understanding. As a passionate advocate for accessible knowledge and community engagement, I see TEDx as a platform that encourages individuals to think beyond boundaries and contribute to a collective reservoir of wisdom. I am so happy to be in the TEDx community and to be working alongside some of the most capable people I know. I can't wait to see our conference come to life this winter!”

I am really looking forward to getting to know the Exec team better and see how the event itself turns out in February!! I see TedxMcGill as an amazing platform to unify fellow students from diverse backgrounds, bound by the annual theme. This year's theme - Kaleidoscope - will enable students to showcase their unique perspectives and interpretations, something I am proud of organizing.”

I’m really looking forward to hearing all the student speakers this year! There’s so many students learning and engaging in really cool things on campus and I’m excited to hear about them. That’s part of the reason I love TEDx McGill so much, because it makes this conference so accessible to students. See you all at the event!”

Phoebe Holt-Reiss, VP Sponsorships

U3 Political Science, Sociology, and Management

Hometown:  Maplewood, NJ

“Hi all! After an exciting event last year, I'm happy to jump back into finding amazing sponsors for this year's conference. One of my favorite TEDx talks was by one of our speakers last year, Anna Maria Tosco, who spoke on co-dependency and divesting yourself from people-pleasing behaviors. Give it a watch (link in bio) if your friends tell you that you do too much!”

Kimberly Yang, VP Sponsorships

U2 Joint Honours Philosophy & East Asian Studies

Hometown: Thornhill, ON

“Creating spaces for conversations, for connections, for creativity, for change — these are just tidbits of what TEDxMcGill is about, and likewise, why I love working with this team so much! As this year's TEDxMcGill begins its annual cycle, I greatly look forward to the planning process of developing this year's conference in ensuring it's as welcoming and supportive of a space as possible: so don't hesitate to reach out if you ever have thoughts, concerns, or ideas in mind! (and if you ever want a TED Talk recommendation, I'd suggest listening to either "Strange answers to the psychopath test" or "The paradox of choice" — which, yes, I know is ironic since I'm clearly not great with choice-making if I chose multiple talks to recommend)”

Saiyid Kazmi, VP Finance

U3 Finance

Hometown: St. Louis, USA

This is year is going to be exceptionally challenging yet rewarding as we embark on hosting the largest TEDxMcGill event in coming years. My favorite TED talk is by Matt Walker, a sleep specialist, and finally, TEDxMcGill is important to me because it’s a platform for the McGill community as well as bright minds all round to speak their truths and spread knowledge to anyone willing to listen.
