"Hi, I'm Shirley! I am in my U3 year studying Biology & Economics at McGill. I am beyond excited to work with my amazing team to bring TEDxMcGill 2022-23 to life. This year's theme "Pale Blue Dot" welcomes a plethora of interpretations - for me, it's about creating meaning. The TEDx community is so special to me, as it incites innovation, champions diversity, and inspires growth. A TED talk that has stuck with me over the past few years is "What I learned from 100 days of rejection" by Jia Jiang, where he shows us how dead ends can be turned into wondrous possibilities. I hope to see you at our January conference, where we will get to uncover new ideas and spark discussions together!"

My favourite Ted Talk (hard question, I’ll say two) is “What young women believe about their own sexual pleasure” by Peggy Orenstein and “How to practice emotional first aid” by Guy Winch.
